Research Project on Seniors in Computing!
Who are we?
Ella Sarder - undergraduate computer science student at CU Boulder and researcher in the Internet Rules Lab
Casey Fiesler - Assistant Professor in Information Science at CU Boulder and Direector of the Internet Rules Lab
What is the study about?
We’re interested in learning more about the experiences of computing students as they transition out of academia into the computing industry. This includes experiences with internships, students’ concerns with interviews, values students care about in companies, and students’ perspectives on what classes have helped prepare them for industry.
What do we need?
We are looking for people who are 18+ and are graduating within the next year (no later than December 2022) with a computing degree from the University of Colorado Boulder.
You will have the choice of completing the interview over the phone, through voice chat, video chat, or in-person. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, necessary precautions like masks or social distancing will be required for in-person interviews. The interviewer will only be recording audio from the interviews.
The interview will be 30-60 mins long. Interview participants will be compensated for their time with a $20 gift card of their choice.
What do you need to do?
Please fill out the form below to let us know you are interested! We will get in touch with you to schedule an interview or will let you know if we already have enough participants.
